We proudly offer Photography services in the following locations: Destin, Ft Walton Beach, Miramar Beach, Seaside, Seagrove, Seacrest, Watercolor, Watersound, 30a, Sowal, South Walton, Grayton Beach, Blue Mountain Beach, Crystal Beach, Santa Rosa Beach, Sandestin, Rosemary Beach, Defuniak Springs, Crestview, Freeport and surrounding areas.
We will start your session off with group shots and then break down into individual and smaller groups as time allows. If you have any ideas or particular poses that you would like photographed, I will be happy to accommodate you as time allows. I will also do candid shots throughout the session.
We will meet at the location you have chosen for your portraits. Detailed directions and or addresses will be given to you before your session so that you know how to get where you are going. I always recommend that you scout out the location a day or so before your session so that the day of you know exactly where you are going! Traffic can sometimes be an issue in Destin so if you know exactly where you are going the day of your session there will be less stress involved for you the day of! Let me stress to you that TRAFFIC CAN BE AN ISSUE YOU IN DESTIN! Give yourself plenty of time to reach your destination. Leave early! It’s better to arrive early and wait it the AC of your car for the perfect light time than to be late and we run out of light! IT HAPPENS EVERY YEAR! Someone doesn’t listen to me. They listen to their GPS. That GPS does not live in Destin. That GPS does not know what I know about Destin! If I say you need an hour and GPS says you need 20 minutes, you should really listen to me. I promise, when you are late for your session because you listened to the GPS and you only have 15 minutes of light left, you will be upset! The sun doesn’t care if the traffic is backed up. The sun will set even if we aren’t ready for it to. And when the light is gone, it’s gone…..
Why yes, yes you can! I would love it if you did. Water shots are my all time favorite. Destin has the most beautiful beaches and emerald green gulf waters in the world and they make perfect photography backdrops. If you would like water shots captured at the beach, we will do these towards the end of your session. Remember to bring towels and a change of clothes.
Your session will last up to one hour. The location of your session is completely up to you as I am very flexible. If you are not really sure about where you want your session to take place, I would be happy to recommend the perfect place for your portrait session such as the beach, a local park, your hotel or condo or your own family home and backyard. The choices are unlimited. The emphasis during all sessions is on you the client being relaxed and having fun and me creating the images you are looking for. I will take a variety of portraits including candid and posed so you will have several different options to choose from when ordering. Parents are encouraged to be involved during your children’s session as you know your children better than anyone and just what makes them smile and show their true personalities. However, if you know that your child will do better without your involvement, feel free to take a walk. I promise to take very good care of them! I will work with your child to make sure that they are comfortable and having fun. There is no set number of images taken during a session. I will take as many as are necessary and as time allows to insure that I have captured the portraits that you want.
As our Destin beach photography appointments book quickly during spring, summer and fall, schedule your appointment as far in advance as you can. If you are visiting our area make your appointment for the first day that your entire group will be available in case your session has to be reschedule due to bad weather. We monitor the weather frequently throughout the day to predict the best window of opportunity for your portraits as it rarely rains all day. So it is important that your schedule be flexible on the day of your session in case your time has to be changed. Beautiful portraits are obtained on cloudy days too as the lighting is very soft, there will be less squinting and the shadows won’t be as harsh. If we can’t complete your session on your scheduled date due to weather, we will reschedule you for another day and time if at all possible. If you are scheduled for a sunset session, we may have to more you to a sunrise session to get your portraits done while you are here. I know sunrise is EARLY AND YOU ARE ON VACATION but we must do what we must do. But seriously, sunrise is so beautiful and so much cooler and less windy and absolutely no crowds!

The session fee is not applied toward your purchased prints. All prints and products are sold separately.
Your session proofs will be uploaded to a private password protected proofing gallery within 4 weeks of your session. You will receive an email from us directing you to your online proofing gallery and instructions on how to order.
I realize that your eye glasses are part of who you are (believe me, my husband and I have this conversation every time I point my camera in his direction as he has worn glasses since his teen years) and I would never dream of asking you to remove them and I will do everything in my power to ensure that you look great wearing your glasses in your portraits. However your lenses are reflective and will reflect images in your line of vision, yes sometimes even the photographer. I use flash even outdoors and it will sometimes reflect off you glasses. That being said, it is a good idea to borrow a pair of frames with no lenses in them from your eye doctor that you can wear during your session.
Unfortunately, weather conditions are out of our control so should the weather be bad with heavy rain or strong winds, then we will reschedule the shoot and I will contact you as soon as possible if this is necessary. If you are visiting our area on vacation it is a good idea to book your session as early into your stay as possible in case it has to be rescheduled due to weather. Often in Florida during our summer, we have lots of scattered showers that come and go all day long. If this is the case on the day of your session, I may call you and arrange to shoot your session at a different time of the day in-between the showers as it is not necessary to have bright sunshine for a successful portrait session, in fact, a slightly cloudy day is often much more ideal. If you are scheduled for a sunset session, we may have to move you to sunrise in order to get your session in before you leave. Don’t scream, I promise, once you are up, you will love sunrise. It is so much cooler, less windy and the skies are just as amazing as sunset and sometimes more so. And the best part is there is never a crowd! If you are an out of town client and we are unable to complete your session due to weather and I can’t reschedule you due to a full schedule, your session fee will be refunded.
