Children’s Beach Portrait Photography

Children’s Beach Photography is probably my favorite genre of all.
I love to see the wonder in their eyes when a wave crashes into shore or a pelican flies by. The excitement when a huge Herron lands on the beach close to them flapping his big wings. The thrilled look on their faces when they find a sea shell that just has to go in their pockets. The beach just offers so many wonders for their little eyes and those eyes just light up and sparkle with all the joy and innocence of childhood.
During a children’s session I “test” the waters when we first arrive. If you child is ready and willing to sit, stand or pose, we start out with the formal posed portraits. If they need a little “get rid of the wiggles” time, we will start off with some fun running and playing shots to get them in the mood. We also have numerous props that are available to help us corral and tame those little tikes. By the way, I’m not above bribery! I will do what ever it takes to create images that you will love and want to display in your home.
We have numerous props to use with children on the beach to help them cooperate and have fun. Our wooden boats and Tom Sawyer raft are the most popular for toddlers. They really help with those little ones who just aren’t crazy about sitting in the sand.
Is your baby about to turn one? One year cake smashes on the beach have become pretty popular the last few years. If you plan to do a cake smash, please let me know so that I can bring a few extra props to keep the sand out of the cake!
Seashells, starfish, shell buckets, sailboats and more are great props to give to the little ones to keep them interested in the portrait session. They also add that additional cutesy beach touch.
