As an experienced newborn photographer, we love recording your beautiful baby’s and older kids’ smiles outdoors on our beaches and amazing Florida parks, but sometimes a portrait just requires a studio.
Newborn Studio portraits are always recommended for babies in their first year of life to ensure the safety and comfort of your precious gift from God. First-year cake smash sessions are also best photographed indoors in a controlled environment. Who wants sand in their cake?
I love the formal, old, master style of portraits and if you do too, we need to talk about milestone sessions in the studio. Formal backdrops with your little darlings dressed to impress make a wonderful gift for grandma. Need those special Christmas cookie images? Oh we so love our indoor Christmas pictures and I think you will too. Have a child who is easily distracted, then the studio just might be the perfect place for their next portrait session.
Our current studio space is located about 45 minutes from Destin city center in Defuniak Springs.
You have been blessed with a precious gift from God, a new child. Those first few days of life are the sweetest and most memorable and sadly they go by way to fast. To capture all those adorable little rolls in those cute squishy poses, newborn photography is best done between birth and 14 days old. We can still capture baby images after 14 days but we will be limited on the poses that we can safely and comfortably put your baby into. We would love to work with you to plan out your newborn session and create backdrops and setups that will work to create beautiful art pieces for your home and nursery. If you are expecting, contact us to get on our books for your due date so that we are prepared to photograph you child as soon after birth as possible.
One year cake smash sessions are a great way to celebrate, and document, one of the most important milestones in our children’s lives – the first birthday! The cake smash theme can revolve around a favorite movie or book or simply balloons and a cake. From far out to just simple. The only rule is, there has to be a great cake! This is by far one of my favorite sessions to do and so much fun for everyone involved. Do you have a little one that is about to turn one? Old master style portraits are so beautiful in their simplicity and style. With painted backdrops, antique props or just a simple stool this is a timeless image that will please every grandma and most mommies too. If you are looking for that traditional portrait look for one of your child’s milestone sessions, let’s talk about what we can do.
We recommend that a child be photographed at each of the milestone marks of the first year. The milestone marks are newborn, three months, six months, nine months and one year. These are the developmental ages when the biggest changes have occurred. From birth to elbow pushups to sitting to crawling to standing, we document it all with a grow me plan. We have backdrops to fit any mood and style from solid colors, flowers, sequins, roses and simple black and white. Give us a call to set up your milestone session or to discuss our grow with me plan.
Although I photograph children for other holidays when requested, Christmas is one of my favorite holiday portrait times. I just love the little girls in their sparkly Christmas dresses and little boys in their suits and ties. But my favorite is our milk and cookies set up. Children of all ages love cookies and it is so fun to see what they are going to do during their milk and cookie sessions. Need that adorable Christmas card image to send to all the relatives?
