What To Expect During and after Your Session
I love the people I photograph. I mean, they’re my friends. I’ve never met most of them or I don’t know them at all, yet through my images, I live with them. – Bruce Gilden
So you have booked your session, what next?
Expect to have fun! This will not be your ordinary portrait photography session where you are told to sit, stand and say cheese! This session will be fun, I promise! Even dad will comment on how much fun it is. We will laugh and play and have a good time while capturing your family’s personalities. I will meet you at one of our beautiful Destin beaches, parks or other predetermined location to photograph your family. Your session can last up to an hour. During your session, we will do group and individual poses. If there are children in your group, oh we will have even more fun, running and playing and possibly splashing in the waves. Children don’t always do well with the posey, posey stuff so we will change it up and do a little candid too, enabling me to capture their amazing spirits and personalities. If I see that your child or children need a little warming up time, I will start out with a few candid “let’s see how fast you can run” shots and get them laughing and in the mood for pictures. Children seem to cooperate much better when we make everything a game. Also, I’m not above bribery! Whatever it takes to get that end product we are all working towards!
A few helpful hits that will make things run smoother:
Be on time! We are working with nature and our light will fade fast. During our busy spring and summer seasons, traffic can be a problem, so leave early in case of heavy traffic.
Get that nap in! Make sure everyone is well rested, especially dad and the kids.
Bring water or juice for the kids and yourself, picture taking can be thirsty business.
Get that nap in!
Feed children before your session. Hungry kids equal fussy kids.
Get that nap in!
If you are having a beach session, it is always a good idea to bring a towel and change of clothes. It’s the beach, we may get wet. Ok, well I always manage to get wet and if you want to get wet with me, well that just means even more fun. Kids love nothing better than being allowed to “go swimming” in their clothes!
Get that nap in!
Most important, Get that nap in! And bring your smile and be prepared to have fun!
What happens after your session?
Approximately 4 weeks after your photography session, you will receive an email with a link and the password to your online proofing gallery. Your proofing gallery will be active for 30 days and we ask that you make your selections during this time. If your proofing gallery expires and has to be reloaded, there will be a $25 reload fee charged. (Online Storage is expensive!)
Editing: Can you make me skinny, add hair to hubby’s head, add a missing person, remove the cast from my son’s arm?
If you can think of it, I have been asked to do it! Although photoshop is a miraculous tool, doing extensive edits like removing tan lines, wrinkles, head swaps, repairing extremely wind blown hair, making you look thinner and other extensive edits are very time consuming. During peak season, I just don’t have the time required to do these types of edits. However, if you insist on it, I can send your images out to a photoshop editing expert who can perform these miracles for you at an additional charge of $25 per image.
We do take pride in our profession and the product that we deliver. All proofs will be edited for color and clarity. Minor blemishes and booboos will be removed when possible. Stray hairs that are on the face will be removed and fixed when possible. Fixing wind blown, frizzed hair is not always possible, but we try to make you look as fabulous as possible.
