Watersound Photographer Couples Portraits
Nikki and Hunter came to visit from Mississippi and stayed in the beautiful Watersound community. Nikki booked me for a very special couples session to document their vacation together. You see, they had lost all of their photographs in a house fire and this vacation was the chance for her to capture new memories to replace some of the lost ones.
The day of their session, one of our famous Florida thunderstorms decided to pay a visit and stick around all day. We were unable to photograph them as scheduled and Nikki was heart broken. It was Mother’s day weekend and I was booked solid for every day except Sunday which I had planned to spend with my family. Nikki’s story broke my heart and I just knew I had to rearrange my day to accommodate getting their session in before they left to go back home.
The weather Gods were with us on Sunday and gave us a beautiful day. I spent the morning and afternoon celebrating Mother’s day with my family, who understand the importance of photographs. They had no problem rescheduling our day so that I could be free to meet with Nikki and Hunter in the evening and make the day special for them too.
I tell you this story not to “Toot” my own horn but to say, “make the time to photograph your family!” I know it’s hard to get everyone on the same page at the same time in the same place. I get it, but I love photographs. They tell our story. They show the future generations who we were and what a beautiful family they are descended from. Not only should you make the time to photograph them, but make backup copies of your cherished photographs and put them in a fire proof box or safe. Protect your memories.
We spent the first part of their session walking around Watersound and taking advantage of the green areas for some non-beach portraits.
We then hit the beach and were blessed with a beautiful sunset.
Thank you Nikki and Hunter for choosing me as your photographer to get you back on the track of capturing photographic memories for your home. It was a pleasure working with both of you and I hope to see you in the future to capture more of your memories.
